i don't think i've ever met your dad before, or recall seeing a picture of him, but i'm gonna venture a guess that this is him. my intial emotional response upon viewing this pic (appropriately in black and white) was a wincing "hmm." my next thought was that it looked like a picture one might display at a funeral or on an obituary page. and again--that must be what it feels like--a death of sorts. a death to conventional living. void of liberty, and a real squash on a full pursuit of happiness. i pray i'm not just insensitively commenting on something i can't understand. just know this picture evoked real thoughts and feelings and put a face to a man who deserves to be remembered.
