friends of the library

last night, jon, rachel, amanda, & i went to the friends of the metropolitan library booksale. for my birthday, jon & rachel signed me up as a 'friend' which came along with 4 tickets for entry to the friday night 'members only' sale. amanda & i have been in the past on saturday evening or sunday afternoon & still found some good stuff. this was way better, getting first dibs instead of having to scavenge through the carcasses of old romance novels in hopes of finding a scrap someone left behind. after all was said and done, we got 26 great books for $27, & it might have been more had we not needed to leave at a certain point.

in other news, kunek will be playing this friday evening, March 2nd @ VZD's in okc. i will not go into how important it is for you to be there, but just trust me, you won't regret it.

the other morning, jason & i met up & had some jamba. i noted the contrast in our dress [he was on his way to a funeral, i had been riding my scooter in the freezing cold] & said that we looked like a tv detective team: jason, the clean-cut, play-by-the rules, no-nonsense cop, & jöe, the undercover, makes-his-own-rules, cop with an attitude. upon showing the photo to others, we've gotten some other suggestions:
