Today my life has been changed...

We’ve been talking lately about the old lady who used to live in the house that is now the clinic in which I work. She died in 2003 and we have a big (probably haunted) portrait of her hanging in the hallway. Some time ago, the lady who cleans the clinic mentioned to our director that she has seen Prebble when going about her duties. Recently, one of our therapists had an experience where she said she also saw Prebble. I have commented that, if I ever saw a ghost (or alien), it would change my life. A confrontation like that with a new bizarre reality would likely blow all my fuses. I have just never had an experience of anything like that myself. We have started joking around at work and hiding and scaring each other, etc. so much so that some are uncomfortable being in the clinic alone for fear of real or manufactured haints.

Today was a fine Thanksgiving afternoon. We enjoyed our meal, shared what each of us was thankful for; then came time to take family pictures. My brother Zack’s girlfriend Terri-Ann had a new digital camera that we set on timer and made several attempts to get everything just right. Here’s one of the photos we ended up with….

See anything interesting? As I looked through Terri’s camera and saw this mysterious ‘orb’ glowing just in front of my Grandmother, I thought of stories I have heard of these balls of light, visible only in photos, that are believed by some to be angels, ghosts, etc. I decided to zoom in and have a closer look. As Amanda and I watched, a distinguishable face materialized. There were a total of 8 people present at our house today, and each of us can vouch that this uncanny image was visible on the camera viewfinder immediately after the pictures were taken, without any digital alteration. I have played with it a little (adjusted to B&W, increased the contrast, zoomed in, cropped, etc.) to really make it stand out. Join me, won’t you, in becoming obsessed with such phenomenon, forsaking all reason, quitting work, and becoming a modern day ghostbuster. Colleagues, consider this my two week notice....
