iTrippin

the latest chapter in the ongoing epic ipod saga involves iTrip, a handy little device that allows my ipod to transmit its lovely music over FM airwaves. a couple of weeks ago, just as the wall of sound was coming to fruition, the guts of my iTrip started spilling out. the 'member' of the iTrip [seen hanging down above] would stay plugged in when i tried to detach it to plug in headphones. this would expose wires & other witchcraft contained within the iTrip which gave it the powers i so desperately coveted.

by the way, i realize that this is boring & meaningless to anyone else, but it's been a dry spell for blogging material, so don't bother pointing it out to me.

anyway, for awhile, iTrip still worked, even in this disemboweled state, but some of the wires finally pulled loose despite the great care i took to pry the 'member' loose from the ipod proper with my swiss army knife. that was the day the music died as far as i was concerned because i could neither have tunes in my car, nor utilize my wall of sound that was dependent upon this revolutionary radio technology. in the meantime, i had great difficulty finding the same model of replacement iTrip because they have upgraded since then, & while i payed only $25 for mine around Christmas, the comparable model now costs $50. mine has since been clearanced out & would only earn me in-store credit of about $12.

luckily, just as my hope waned, as i was settling for $12 in-store credit & telling this sad tale to whomever would listen, the clerk revealed that she had just taken this very model as an exchange from someone who had an ipod incompatible with it, & so could trade mine for the opened one. i now have my music wherever i go, & the glory of the wall of sound has been restored. true story.
